Our Kosher Standard

Glatt Kosher, Without Compromise

Kashrut is the foundation of every AfriKosher journey. Here is exactly how we maintain glatt kosher standards across Africa — transparently, and without making any certification claims we cannot stand behind.

Private Chef on Every Journey

A dedicated, experienced kosher chef travels with you and prepares every meal from scratch in a dedicated kosher kitchen setup.

Separate Equipment & Surfaces

Meat and dairy are kept fully separate, with dedicated pots, utensils, and surfaces — bishul Yisrael and appropriate hashgacha practices observed throughout.

Mehadrin Wine & Products

All wine, baked goods, and packaged products are sourced from recognised kosher suppliers; provisions are flown from South Africa where local supply is unavailable.

No Certification Claim

We do not hold or imply a formal hechsher. Our standard is our process — a private kosher operation supervised by our team, fully transparent to you.

How It Works, Step by Step

1

Sourcing

Meat and poultry from certified kosher suppliers; fresh produce locally sourced and triple-washed.

2

Transport & Storage

Sealed, labelled, and temperature-controlled — meat and dairy never share storage.

3

Kitchen Setup

A dedicated kosher kitchen is set up at every lodge or camp, with separate equipment for meat and dairy.

4

Preparation

Our chef prepares all meals; bishul Yisrael observed; no cooking on Shabbat — food pre-prepared.

5

Service

Meals served on kosher plates; Shabbat meals with challah, wine, and full ceremony.

Have specific kashrut requirements or a particular standard you keep? Tell us — we will match it as closely as our private operation allows, and be honest where we cannot.
