Who We Are
AfriKosher exists for a single reason: to prove that the journey of a lifetime across Africa and a life lived fully kosher are not just compatible — they belong together.
AfriKosher was founded in Cape Town by Mazi Halperin, at the meeting point of two lifelong passions: a love for Africa in its wildest, most refined form, and a deep commitment to Jewish life. We had watched Jewish travelers choose, again and again, between adventure and observance — and we set out to end that compromise.
Today we are specialists in bespoke luxury kosher journeys across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean. Every trip is built from a blank page around your family, your standard, and your sense of wonder. A private chef travels with you. Shabbat is kept, wherever you are. The standard of kashrut is ours to maintain — transparently, and without shortcuts.
We do not hold or imply a formal hechsher. Our standard is our process: a private kosher operation, run by our team, open to your questions. We would rather tell you exactly how it works than ask you to take a label on faith.
